The Cold War was a pivotal time for the United States. Like much of the world, the US was recovering from WWII. This recovery lead to a significant economic and cultural boom, with sights of prosperity more apparent than ever. TV's in households were becoming common, cars were being bought, and people were starting to live their lives again after such a devastating period. Despite this return to normalcy, the years after WWII were anything but normal.
